      Frequently asked questions

A wallbox featuring dynamic energy management is equipped with a radio module which sends the available current to the wallbox without exceeding the maximum power of your electricity supply. The main advantage of the wallbox fitted with a dynamic energy management system is that it saves money by controlling your charging sessions.

A single-phase wallbox has a single conductor and is compatible with a single-phase electrical power supply that also consists of a single conductor. This wallbox can charge an EV up to 7kW, which represents the maximum power rating delivered by a single-phase installation. On the other hand, a three-phase wallbox has 3 conductors, as does a three-phase electrical power supply, thereby ensuring a more reliable delivery of current. The advantage of a three-phase installation for electric cars that can take more than 7kW is that charging will be faster - up to 22kW.

We recommend that you buy a 22kW wallbox  if you have a three-phase electricity supply and an EV equipped with an on-board charger with a capacity of 11kW or more. The difference between the price of an 11kW wallbox and the price of a 22kW wallbox is negligible. We have therefore decided to offer a single, robust charging solution that is compatible with a broad range of EVs from 11kW to 22kW.

In single-phase, the recommended minimum power supply is 9kVA* so that you can run your household equipment at the same time as charging your EV. For greater comfort, a minimum of 12kVA* will mean you can charge your EV with a wallbox on a three-phase installation. *The kilovolt-ampere (kVA) represents the maximum power an electric meter can withstand.

Under the OZEV scheme, the EV chargepoint grant provides funding of up to 75% towards the cost of installing electric vehicle smart charging points at domestic properties across the UK. For further information, we suggest you consult the details on the following website: www.gov.uk/government/collections/government-grants-for-low-emission-vehicles#ozev.

You can install a wallbox with a cable attached if your electrical installation is equipped with a dedicated circuit breaker. You will also need a socket fitted with an on/off switch when you install your wallbox with attached cable. This ensures you can cut off the power supply to the charging station. This is a point to discuss with your charging station installer.
